Plagiarism and AI-Generated Content Policy

The Journal of Research in Humanities (JRH) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical research. All submitted manuscripts are expected to represent the authors' original scholarly work and must be free from plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, and other forms of academic misconduct.

To ensure compliance with national and international standards of research ethics, every manuscript submitted to JRH undergoes plagiarism and AI-generated content screening before entering the peer-review process. The Editorial Board reserves the right to conduct additional screening at any stage of the editorial process whenever deemed necessary.

 

The journal follows the plagiarism guidelines prescribed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Accordingly:

  • The overall similarity indexof a manuscript must not exceed 19%.
  • The similarity from any single source must not exceed 5%.
  • The AI-generated content detection score must not exceed 19%, in accordance with HEC guidelines.
  • Proper quotation, citation, and acknowledgment of all published and unpublished sources are mandatory (MLA-9).
  • Any instance of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, fabricated or falsified data, manipulated citations, or undisclosed use of AI-generated content may result in immediate rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of a published article, as deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.
  • Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality and authenticity of their work. Submission of a manuscript to JRH constitutes the authors' declaration that the work complies with the journal's ethical standards and the plagiarism regulations of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to request explanations, revisions, or supporting documentation from the author(s) wherever concerns regarding originality, similarity, or research integrity arise.
